My Boy Story is a contribution to the discussion on freedom of expression. The first two issues were released in 2017 on the same days as two famous book burnings in Nazi Germany took place in 1933: May 10 in Berlin and August 26 in Jena.
It is easy to condemn book burnings, but My Boy Story goes a step further and shows what fiction may look like, and how people may want to ban and burn it – just like the Nazis. In other words: The content of My Boy Story is deliberately extreme and may be offensive to some readers. But it is fiction – the stories have nothing to do with reality.
